FARM INTERNSHIPS
Do you love horticulture?
Do you have a passion for the environment?
Do you want to promote sustainable social changes?
Come learn how all of these elements intersect by experiencing the hands-on skills of small-scale ecological agriculture.
Interns can expect to be involved with all aspects of the farm, from greenhouse production, transplanting, seeding, garden maintenance, vegetable washing and storage to record keeping, direct marketing, sales, event promotions and educational outreach.
Our farmer has an extensive background in conservation biology and a strong passion for using food as a tool to encourage sustainable, daily lifestyle decisions for the well being of our global environment, our local economy and the people of our community.
Details: We are in need of two committed live-in interns for the 2016 season, May-October. Exact start and end dates are negotiable. This position is in exchange for room/board, a large share of veggies (plus excess for preservation if available), free admission to all of our events and educational workshops, plus paid tuition for outside educational opportunities (to be determined based on interest), and a small monthly stipend. Additional short-term or part-time opportunities are also available. No experience necessary however, passion, dedication, the ability to perform manual labor and a valid driver’s license are a must!
